Reconstruction and equipment of the Tahirih University School

 

Project Description

 

In order to enable the students of Tahirih University School of education in Manaus/Brazil to benefit from an education of quality, Unity Foundation, with its local partner ADCAM, has:
 
  • built a 300 seat auditorium
  • enlarged and further equipped the library
  • paid for the didactical materials required by Brazilian state law
  • chosen a university professor to teach and direct the project

 

 

ADCAM, a fully constituted non-profit institution und Brazilian law, began its activities in 1984 in Manaus, administering an orphanage in the suburb of Sao Jose and a rural development project in the river town of Iranduba.

In its quest to help the people of the Amazon region help develop their spiritual and material capacities and to become self-sustaining, ADCAM itself has grown and developed.  ADCAM understood the urgent necessity of opening a formal school with basic elementary education and vocational training.
