On a visit to Mali
During the month of March, Marianne Robberecht was staying for a month in Mali to make a story of general public awareness of Luxembourg development activities conducted by 11 NGOs in Luxembourg, including UNITY FOUNDATION.
Marianne had the opportunity to visit our education project governed by the NGO VICTORY committed to a quality education in community schools in several villages in the Bamako area. After a warm welcome by our partner, she had the opportunity to visit the premises of the Foundation and others equipped with a computer lab where training of computer skills is available to area youth since 2004.
A tour of 13 schools was also included on her agenda and Marianne could account for the acceptance and cooperation of the local population. To VICTORY, it is essential to put the children at the center of learning. They should develop theit capacities to contribute to the development of communities and society in general.
Leaving VICTORY, Marianne had one certainty: if the financial resources are of course indispensable for development assistance, a faith cohesive team believing in its own ability to develop people who can make the difference, is needed as badly.
